Mainly the music: I know "Lara's Theme" was a big hit and it is a pretty melody, but in the (very long) movie it seems to pop up every 5 minutes, in a syrupy, over-done arrangement. The book was a lot better, and not just because it didn't come with a soundtrack. I haven’t seen Lawrence, but Zhivago drove me nuts.
