bike routes for sale
the warm weather has been getting to me. i think it’s safe to say i sweat more than most people, but i really sweat more than the average schmoe while conspicuously dishwashing.
there’s been a lot of bike news recently. some friends have out-of-true wheels, others are looking for better routes to get to the U and to team SCUR. i’ve been using these peoples’ google maps pedometer pretty frequently. aside from a few nuisances it makes for a very clever little route plotter. which brings me to my two routes of choice to work. the one that starts out going west and the one that goes east. both are nice ways to get from uptown to the other side of the river through downtown.
a,k,h and i ventured on a bike ride to northfield for the 4th. it was wonderful and unexpected to see a friendly rock-climber there (just like last year) before he embarks on his journey for sweet boulders… so lucky to see him.
happy birthday grandma! you’re 100, still enjoy whiskey sours and listen happily to unrehearsed chamber music. don’t think i’ll be in quite such good shape 76 years from now.
as i seem to have done several times in the past, i picked up several books and started reading them immediately upon coming home this time. usually (like right now) it takes me a good 2 or more hours to move from a sitting position to a reading position. it’s kind of embarassing that i need to be in an entirely different environment to open up a book.
if anyone wants to get steak once texas figures out how many mad cows it needs to kill, come with me to mancini’s char house. the menu consists of 6 or 7 kinds of steak, as well as lobster, walleye and chicken for the faint of heart. our waitress was hot and our tableside vegetables tangy.
like the handler and schmara, i too am moving into a new apartment with special K. we’ll be right here in the 2nd apartment.
