one onion
one enormous clove of garlic
two chicken breasts
brocolli, peas, veggies of choice.
one can coconut cream/milk.
two large dollops tomato paste (3/4 of a small can)
hot pepper flakes
salt, pepper, basil, red pepper flakes, chili sauce (the korean kind) and fish sauce if possible.
two heaping teaspoons sugar (brown is best)
one or more cups veggie stock.
preparation:
mostly like stir fry: divide and conquer 2 breasts of chicken into small pieces. salt them and pepper them. then stick them in the skillet and try to kill them. take them out, then do the same thing with the onion. put the garlic in a bit later, once the onions have died. put back in the chicken, then add coconut cream, tomato paste, some sugar and veggie stock. simmer like crazy until your rice is done and you like the consistency.
some things that should probaly go in it but that i didn’t have around:
red curry paste (or green. whichever)
fish sauce
cilantro
garlic
peas/corn
the key to this recipe is that it’s on the back of the thai kitchen red curry jar, but you can ad lib and still get away with it.

usually when i think of pleasant things to put up here i’m away from a computer. i’m in my car on the way to work listening to rjd2’s new album, taking ‘the last bike ride of the season’ or baking banana bread. vacuuming the place and washing dishes also seem to put me in a good mood.
i have been tunneling rather a lot of things through ssh recently. i must say, organizations that allow outbound ssh access are basically allowing outbound everything access via ssh. i’m rather surprised i haven’t seen/heard more excitement surrounding the topic. i’m guessing we haven’t gotten to the point where enough people use ssh for it to be an issue. all i can say is, thank you PuTTY, for allowing me to listen to music (from home) at work.
i busted out the (kevin’s) tripod recently and took some pictures. a prelude to nighttime winter photography. hendler & co (i’ve been invited too, but am notoriously lazy) have basically finished the ‘new’ photo system to which i should add my photos. if i can’t contribute code, i better at least contribute images.
thanks to hendler for pointing out another useful site, again. don’t think i would have found del.ico.us on my own. lots of nerds use it, apparently, because it’s as good at answering my bash scripting/ssh tunneling/raid configuring questions as google is.
